Terms of Service

Double Fault helps tennis players find partners and organize sessions. Be honest, show up when you say you will, and treat other players the way you would want to be treated on a public court. The rest of this page is the longer version of that.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

You must be 18 or older, provide accurate information about yourself, and keep your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Double Fault is currently invite-only, and invites are for people you actually know.

You keep ownership of what you write - chat messages, session notes, court details, and player endorsements. You give us permission to store and display that content within the app so the service can work.

Court information is community-editable: anyone signed in can correct a court’s details, and we keep a history of those edits. Please only make changes you believe are accurate.

Do not use Double Fault to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse another player.
• Post content that is discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a community of people arranging to meet in public.
• Misrepresent who you are, including your identity, your rating, or whether you attended a session.
• Deliberately damage another player’s reputation with false reports.
• Scrape, resell, or use the service to advertise something unrelated.
• Interfere with the app’s operation or try to access accounts that are not yours.

Your reliability score is calculated from attendance that session organizers record, and it is visible to other players. Organizers cannot record their own attendance. If you are marked as a no-show we will notify you, and for now the fastest way to sort out a mistake is to message the organizer in the session chat - an organizer can correct what they submitted.

Scores and endorsements reflect what other players report. They are not a judgment by us about you as a person, and we do not guarantee that every entry is accurate.

This is the important one. Double Fault helps you find people to play tennis with, but we do not verify players’ identities, backgrounds, skill levels, or fitness to play, and we are not involved in your sessions.

You arrange and attend sessions at your own risk. Use ordinary judgment: meet at public courts, tell someone where you are going, and stop if something feels wrong. Tennis carries a risk of injury, and you are responsible for your own health, safety, equipment, and any court fees.

You can stop using Double Fault at any time, and you can email us to delete your account. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these Terms, or where we believe it is necessary to protect other players. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

Double Fault is provided “as is.” We are a small, early product and we do not promise the app will always be available, error-free, or that notifications and reminders will always arrive. Do not rely on it as your only way of confirming a session.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens between players away from the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these Terms as the app grows. If we make a significant change we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change matters we will let you know in the app.
